Home School Programme
Dear Parent(s),
We are delighted to share information about the Philippine Cambridge International Schools Home-Schooling Programme.
Our program is recognized by the Department of Education, enabling us to enroll students from Kindergarten (age 5 by October 31) through Year 6. Participants in this program receive accredited school records recognized by other educational institutions. While we are in the final stages of becoming an officially accredited Cambridge School, we have already integrated the Cambridge curriculum into our teachings. In the interim, should our official affiliation not be finalized within this academic year, we have established provisions to collaborate with the British Council Philippines. This ensures that our students will have the opportunity to sit for external examinations and receive their well-deserved Cambridge certifications.
For a deeper understanding of our offerings, please visit our website at: https://www.cambridge-pcis.com
The curriculum we offer is based on the modified Cambridge Curriculum to meet our students' needs, featuring essential subjects and additional courses. Adherence to the core curriculum is mandatory.
Core Curriculum Subjects:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- History and Geography (World and Philippines)
- Filipino / Filipino as a Second Language
Open Curriculum Subjects:
- Music
- Art
- Physical Education
- Information and Communication Technology
- Global Perspectives
Educational activities, including guided and independent work, quizzes, long tests, and projects, are to be administered and evaluated by the home-school facilitator/teacher/parents. This outcome-based curriculum emphasizes product-oriented assessments using detailed rubrics. So, expect some assessments to be product-based.
The school will provide and grade term examinations for core subjects to ensure consistency with the curriculum standards. Conversely, assessments for the more flexible open curriculum subjects will be managed by the home-school facilitator/teacher/parents.
Our academic year consists of three terms, starting in August and concluding in June.
